Sure, summer hasn’t even officially arrived yet. But the Winnipeg Jets are already planning for their return to the ice before the leaves finish turning colours and hit the ground.
The team released their seven-game 2018 pre-season schedule on Wednesday. It includes four home games at Bell MTS Place against the Minnesota Wild, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers and New Jersey Devils, and three road contests against the Oilers, Flames and Wild.
The seven games will be played over an 11-day stretch as the Jets work towards finalizing their roster for the 2018-19 regular season, where they’ll look to continue the momentum built by reaching the Western Conference final this past season.
The games are as follows:
Monday, Sept. 17 vs. Minnesota Wild, 7 p.m.
Thursday, Sept. 20 at Edmonton Oilers, 8 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 21 vs. Calgary Flames, 7 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 23 vs. Edmonton Oilers, 7 p.m.
Monday, Sept. 24 at Calgary Flames, 8 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 26 at Minnesota Wild, 7 p.m.
Thursday, Sept. 27 vs. New Jersey Devils, 7 p.m.
The 82-game regular-season schedule is expected to be released next Thursday on the eve of the NHL draft in Dallas.
Winnipeg already knows a pair of dates — Nov. 1 and 2 in Finland, when they’ll take on the Florida Panthers as part of the NHL’s Global Series event.
